Recycled & No Dyeing
Recycling and upcycling are key factors in our sustainable solution. At MATTERS, we strive to embrace circular fashion.

Through the usage of recycled textile, our collections reduce the consumption of virgin raw materials for production, resulting in less CO2 emission, less energy consumption, less water usage, and less chemicals as we abstain from dyeing process.

We encourage our community to embrace a circular economy to advance a step closer to a zero-waste lifestyle.
Textile Recycling Process
“Textile recycling is the process of recovering fiber, yarn, or fabric and reprocessing the material into new, useful products.”

At MATTERS, every sheet of upcycled fabric comes from various origins. It has its own stories and unique colors.
The materials are gathered from the fashion industry’s textile waste, given new life, new value, new purpose.

Step 1: Collecting & Sorting

Step 2: Recycling & Shredding

Step 3: Spinning & Weaving
Any type of textile waste from threads, fabric scraps to old, worn out clothes are collected and sorted into piles of similar color.
After separating the garments into different piles of colors, the materials will be shredded to extract the fibers from the fabric.
The shredded fibers are then spun into new yarns. The yarns retrieved from spinning are then woven or knitted into new sheets of fabric.

Certification

Global Recycled Standard (GRS)
The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is a voluntary product standard for tracking and verifying the content of recycled materials in a final product.
The goal of GRS is to increase the use of recycled materials in products and reduce or eliminate the harm caused by its production.

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers.
It defines high-level environmental criteria
which ensures clothing has been held to the highest standards of sustainability and ethics throughout the entire production process — from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to labeling.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®
STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the worlds best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances.
This label certifies that every component of the product, from the fabric to the thread and accessories, has been rigorously tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals.
